DECONSTRUCTION and INTERESTING DISCOVERY

A few days ago, I viewed my friends ‘ presentation in class about “Deconstruction in design”. It was very interesting and attractive.

Deconstruction, in basic definition, it means breaking the rule or not following any criteria. Deconstructive design is often unusual, strange not practical in live and even crazy.

After doing some research and understand basically the concept of deconstruction in design. I has discovered some interesting things in our life which are related with deconstruction in design

People who follow deconstruction styles is often working in design fields such as fashion designers, artists, multimedia designers and even architectures. The concept of “NEW and UNIQUE IDEAS” is as a very important position in these people. They always finding something new, interesting and strange and after that they are becoming far away from real life. Their style are often quite unusual or even crazy. For example, Fashion style of famous fashion designer Dang Thi Minh Hanh in Vietnam is very impressive and stylish however there are some opinion that clothes designed by her is unusual and impossible to wear in real life.

Deconstruction is not unusual or unique permanently. It is just temporary in a certain time. People tend to find something new and strange in their life. At the first time, some deconstruction designs maybe strange and unacceptable however after along time it will be come acceptable by many people and becoming very ordinary in our life. For example, approximately in the period from 1975 from 1990, people think that people who wear short jeans trousers with many tear or scratch lines or people who have colorful hair styles are crazy and hoodlum. However, now this styles is becoming very common and is acceptable in many places such as schools or universities

I LOVE GRAFFITI

Graffiti is one of the 4 main characteristics of Hip Hop Culture :Master of Ceremonies, Graffiti, DJ(Disk jockey )and Break-dance. The Original Graffiti was just scratching or drawing on the war surface. After that, Modern Graffiti was formed by the appearance of spray-painting and It becomes 1 of 4 main elements of Hip Hop culture.

There are 3 common styles in Graffiti.

-The First and the most basic is “Tag”. Tag is the way of writing Artist’s name or signatures.

-The second one is “Throw-ups”. Throw-ups is painting a graffiti pictures very quickly with simple color. The main facet of “Throw ups” style is the speed of painting, not the beauty of pictures.

-The last and the most complex style is “wildstyle” or “wickedstyle” which are a form of graffiti involving interlocking letters, arrows, and connecting points.

Unfortunately, Graffiti is illegal in most countries because graffiti pictures are painted in the walls which are not permitted by the their owner.

I am very interested in graffiti and often use graffiti styles in my designs. Graffiti really conquered me because of these reasons :

Firstly, graffiti is very youthful .It represents mostly characteristics of young peoples, especially teenagers such as excitement, free, hot-tempered, and a little of rebellion etc .For that reason, there are many young people choose graffiti styles for their decorations on T shirts, cars, cap. laptop Etc

Secondly, graffiti is very colorful. Colors are used in graffiti are often impressive colors such as red, yellow, blue, green, black .etc and high contrast pairs of colors such as yellow and red, red and black, yellow and black, blue and red. These colors indicate high vitality of people

The last and the most persuasive reason that graffiti absolutely conquer me is that the rebellion in designs. Curves , zigzag lines, long lines shows the extreme freedom in designing. High contrast colors and big impressive painting pictures( such as yelling man face) indicates deconstructive styles.

Graffiti is wonderful. I love graffiti

The second type

1-The title is made in bigger size than the information and is arranged in “eyes” shape around the information

2-The information is organized in 3 specific groups “Location, Time&Date and Contact

This is the first type of the Composition exercises :

1-I want to emphasis the word "Big" to make the title more impressive by using big size "B" in the middle.

2-The information is organized in 3 specific groups: Location, Time&Date and Contact

3-The information in Location and Contact groups is arranged like a frame of the title

THE SUCCESS
In our life, everyone has their own ambitious goals. On the way trying to achieve them, there are many difficults and obstacles. For that reason, there are many people that can not achieve their goals, however, there are some people can do it.For being successful in our life, it is not easy. The success is formed when it can completely collect these 3 important elements:
1-Determination : Nothing are impossible. For being cacthing our goals, especially difficult and ambitious goals. There are many huge obstacles that can make us absolutely disappointing and ready to give up. There are just people who have strong determination can overcome these obstacles.
2-Patience: There are many ways to solve a difficult problem. However, the best solution is not easy to find immediately. The main problem is that we have to find the best solution for us patiently.
3-Failure : There is a Vietnamese Idiom " The failure is the success's mother". Mostly, we can not be successful unless we have failures. After failures, people can get their own experiences which help them very much in another trying.

40 YEARS WITH SILENT AND TENACIOUS FOOTSTEPS
(Exercise about Composition)
Every morning, i usually hear the sale talk "Ai an xoi bap khong"(means "i am selling corn and glutinous rice", which are two traditional and simple foods in Vietnam) from an old vendor. One day, while I was buying some glutinous rice for breakfast, i asked her "how long have u been being a vendor?" .I was amazing when she replied "40 years".At the first time, I did not believe it but it was true when my mother said to me that this vendor has been selling corn and glutinous rice for 40 years. My mother also said this woman's family is quite poor and she has many sons and daughters. She has been nourishing her children as a vendor for 40 years since my mother was a child.
I really admired her.For that reason, I decided to take her picture. The first purpose is keeping a picture of a tenacious woman, and the other is applying my lession that i had studied in class "Composition"
Take a look of the picture and you can understand my messages that i represented.

1-the area in the picture : Although the woman is the central element in the picture, but the size of the woman is not big. I choose poor and old houses as the background of the pictures in order to indicate that the woman’s work is very ordinary like other ordinary works of poor people in Vietnam.

2-The the direction followed by the viewer‘s eyes is from backward of the woman. It means we will se the woman is walking forward. The size of the woman is small and far from the viewer eyes, not closed. It represents that the woman has been working as a vendor for a very long time.

3- the value of light in the picture is used as soft blue of the very early time in the morning. The woman starts her work very early in the morning ,she is hardworking.
